It is A TOOTH SAVING PROCEDURE preferred over Extraction.
A root canal treatment is recommended when the decay has reached the nerves and blood vessels of that particular tooth.
At KDC Dental Clinics we use most advanced techniques for doing RCT, with the help of Endo motors & Apex locators.
Root Canal Treatments are done in a single sitting at our clinics.
When does a tooth require root canal treatment?
What is a tooth made up of ?
Each tooth has 3 parts, Outer hard enamel, below it is the dentin, and the innermost soft portion called the pulp. Pulp supplies both blood and nerve supply to the tooth.
HENCE ONCE THE DECAY INVOLVES THE PULP, TREATMENT OF CHOICE WOULD BE ROOT CANAL TREATMENT ( RCT)

Why should you undergo ROOT CANAL TREATMENT?
A more conservative and painless treatment aimed at removing the infection completely and make the tooth more functional. If an infected tooth is left untreated the infection will spread to the bone causing severe pain, swelling and discomfort and the only treatment option available would be EXTRACTION. Preserving the infected natural tooth is always a better option to pulling it away.
Do all root canal treated teeth require crowns?
A root canal treated tooth usually becomes more brittle and hence such teeth must be reinforced with a dental crown to increase its longevity.
What are the steps involved in root canal treatment?
FIRST STEP - Removal of caries and the infected pulp and placing a temporary medication into the root canal until the next visit.
SECOND STEP - Determining the length of the tooth root. Cleaning and shaping the root canals upto the end of the root to obtain a perfect and even filling.
THIRD STEP - Filling of the root canals with an inert harmless root canal filling material.
